2004 is the European Year of Education through Sport. There is a need for collaboration even in sports within the European Union. Sport gives the opportunity for youth to develop their abilities in the name of solidarity, tolerance and fair play.

The aim of the logical competition called Euro Logic 2004 is to help this development. The logical games of the competition are the Chess, the game of Go, and the Bridge. The competition is solely organized for junior participants. (The age limit is different in each logical game)

The place of the competition is the Hungarian capital, Budapest. European junior teams would compete on the 11th and the 12th December 2004. The professional associations would give a detailed description about the rules and the organization of the competition. Please send us your letter of intent by the 27th February 2004, on the attached form.
The application form can be returned to the organizers via internet, fax, or by mail. Please return the letter of intent to the organizers as soon as possible.

The organizers would ensure free travelling, accommodation and meal for team attendants (maximum two persons) in each kinds of sport for the whole duration of the competition. Travelling cost will be covered by the organisers for team attendants. Train coach or car costs will be refunded within a radius of 400 km to Hungary (Budapest). Over 400 km, plane-tickets on economy class could be ensured also. The accommodation would be in three star hotels, near to the scenes of the competition.

We ensure the accommodation for the participants of the junior competition in hotels for a prize of 15-40 €, or 8-15 € in youth hostels, according to the quality.

The entry-fee is 15 €.

Who can take part in the competition?

10 countries waiting for adhesion3. These countries may solely apply for activities beginning after the 1st January 2004, and therefore can sign a contract only if they became full members of the EU.

EFTA members 4, on condition if they entered an official application form, according to the conditions of the European Economic Area;

candidate countries for membership5, on condition if they entered an official application, and if they signed a contract about the details of the cooperation with the Commission
